I started wearing my son after he came home from the hospital. He was born seven and a half weeks early and spent the first three weeks of his life in the hospital. I felt it was important to be physically close to him after our unnatural separation. I spent lots of time reading while he was in the NICU about the benefits of baby wearing- how it improves physical development in premature babies, and helps you and baby bond. There are many develpomental benefits for babies too. I could list ten great reasons, but really, I only needed one- wearing my son in a sling would help him feel safe in a world he wasn't entirely ready for, and from there, I knew the rest would come. Today, Thomas is a healthy happy baby and he inspires me to do my best.
We started "slinging" in September 2006 after hearing so many people comment on the beauty of our baby carrier. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to start sharing the joy of baby wearing with other new parents. Since then, we have started displaying our slings at a local baby boutique and receive regular requests for more information every time we go out.
We hope you too will enjoy baby wearing and start your experience with one of our beautiful slings!
Ofcourse it is fair to say that without our son, none of this would be possible. My husband has been a huge supporter of babywearing and encouraged me to start this business and see what happens. A child truely brings joy and love into your life in ways that words can not express. Best wishes to all of you on your journey into parenthood!
